The wedding crashers
Wedding video memories are often the only way to see what really happened on your wedding day.
And sometimes, they change everything.
I’m writing this right after getting a call from a bride.
A bride who just watched her wedding video, fresh out of the oven.
And she told me something important.
Well, actually, she told me several things, but there’s ONE that stuck with
me:
Since watching the video, she’s fallen back in love with her wedding.
And you’re probably wondering…
What happened?
Well, his friends happened.
That group of guys from his teenage years…
They went way overboard.
Drinking way too much before the ceremony.
Singing (badly) through the reception.
Disappearing to the bathroom every five minutes.
Shirtless, obnoxious, embarrassing.
Not a total disaster, but when it happens at your wedding?
It stings.
A lot.
And that’s what she focused on.
All the nonsense.
All the things that went wrong.
But while that was happening…
A hundred other beautiful things were happening, too.
And guess what?
I was there.
I filmed them.
So when she watched her wedding film…
That frustration disappeared.
The joy came back.
It came crawling back on its knees, begging for forgiveness, swearing it
would never leave again.
Because in the end, wedding video memories are not about perfection.
They’re about perspective.
About everything you didn’t see in the moment…
but will be grateful to relive later.
And that’s something no one tells you until it’s too late.
